Cuba in the post-Castro era is a rapidly changing country. On our visit in 2018 we experienced its uniquely rich culture and visited some of its natural wonders.
The ever-pulsing spirit of Havana, Matanzas and its rumba, the tobacco and coffee growing lands in Pinar del Río, Santiago de Cuba, the former capital with its distinct culture influenced greatly by french-creole immigrants from Haiti, and Baracoa, home of the kiribá-nengón music genre, the surviving ancestor of the modern Cuban son - just a few of the landmark places that was worth visiting before modernization irreversibly takes over.
